Position Summary
An insurer is modernising its business and systems architecture, progressively moving towards cloud. There is a specific project to resolve some structural changes. The client currently relies on many ETLs between different systems, and these are imperfect. The overall transition will include SQL to APIs in Azure. We assume that there is some EA/TOGAF design structure, however historically the client not focussed on data standards. Insurance industry knowledge is not as important as ability to understand and articulate architecture.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assess the viability of proposals and plans made by a vendor to the client
- Aid the vendor and client alignment
- Assess the business and design documents provided by vendor against the client requirements
- Identify issues with vendor solution design
- Provide guidance to client and vendor in resolving issues
- Support the programme manager in designing and planning the sequence of change
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in systems architecture
- Experience in data architecture
- Experience in cloud architecture
- Demonstrates critical thinking and can help resolve conflicts between client and their vendor
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly in written and spoken formats in English
- Ability to work with minimal direction, self-starter
- Pragmatic approach to problem solving
- Confident communicator, needs to communicate with senior stakeholders, internal and external
- Strong knowledge of MS Azure storage technologies, Power Platform and Power Bi
- Data mart design & optimization experience
