Senior Project Manager

Summary:

Will be responsible for the managing large scale application development projects in various industry sectors including Public, Enterprise or BFSI.  He / She will be involved in the overall project management of the system analysis and design stage and the system implementation and integration stage, covering the entire System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Background: 

The client is integrating a number of MPF platforms by private insurance providers into one digital MPF user interface. This is a privately managed, government funded programme.

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Lead a large-scale system implementation project from project initiation to project implementation and post live support.
  2. Lead a team composing of onshore and offshore design and development resources
  3. Responsible for other PMs delivering other projects which contribute to the overall system
  4. Provide guidance to the team to complete the project milestones

Personal attributes:

  1. A minimum of 12 years experience in IT profession with minimum 5 years’ experience in project management; preferably with solid profiles of managing large and complex system implementation projects
  2. Possesses certification in PRINCE 2 or PMP
  3. Working Knowledge of Test Methodologies and Tools
  4. Proficient in using Microsoft Project
  5. Experienced in managing virtual teams, adopting best practices of Global Delivery Model
  6. Experienced in Government projects will be an advantage
  7. Development experience in financial systems and/or working experience in financial institutions will be an added advantage
  8. Effective verbal and written communication in English and Chinese;
  9. Good leadership, analytical, inter-personal and problem-solving skills.
  10. Positive attitude, fast-learning, energetic, able to perform in challenging environment;
  11. Strong team player
  12. Ability to work in a pressured environment with tight deadlines
  13. Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines

Details:

  • Period –  Expect 24 months
  • Team – PD, OPM, several PMs, PMO being set up, large number of BAs and SAs
  • Location – Hong Kong island
  • Plan – In place, being reworked in light of significant gap between what is in place and what is required.
  • Governance – TBD.
